I guess you never write about what kind of weather it is, but if it's cold 
out you could have whoever states about the goats eating their clothes 
remark that they ate Liza's cloak or jacket.  If the women wear gloves, you 
could have it be about eating Liza's glove(s).
The goats could even eat their shoes.
