[stylist] Blindness and photography

It is those "wows" I detest myself. It reminds me of an experience I had as
a teacher at the New Mexico School. All visiting artists came to my
classes, and I adored it! However, one artist FORCED me to play with her.
It came about because she admired the way I dressed, and the colors I wore.
(I always pride myself on that even now. I simply love clothes and practice
visual memory.)

She came to the conclusion I could "feel" colors. She gave me ten items of
different colors. Dramatically I ran my hands across her swatches. With
eyes closed and worry on my face, I correctly identified 8 of the 10. She
loved it. She believed she could teach the blind to FEEL COLORS! She left
the school totally convinced she was going to create miracles.

I laughed for a long time. Sometimes I dramatize this tale when I give
programs.

I believe blind individuals might try this photography , but the need for
sighted critics might be frustrating.
