Peter,
Who are these "we" that don't do social networks? You make it sound like
some kind of edict from on high. Personally, I have many NFB
members/employees as LinkedIn connections and Facebook friends, many of
whom are recent connections. I can't imagine you get any angrier than I
do at not being able to use the Preview function on CD Baby which I paid
to carry my CD or having to get my husband to open the "Source" edit
field on Ezine Articles and Suite 101 so I can post an article, or
dealing with the frustration of what I need to go through to post new
article links to Facebook or LinkedIn. Facebook M is much more
accessible than the standard version and, as you may have seen on this
list earlier this week, I was trying to find people with complaints
about Linked In's new In Box and extra security issues for a new article
on the realities of accessibility for blind people. I suppose there are
two philosophies here: boycott until they change of their own accord or
get in there and slug it out making friends and explaining the
situation, writing to support and letting them know there really are
blind people with things to do and say that need access to the same
services the sighted have. Personally, it feels like neither approach is
working. I'd like to see a law insisting upon accessibility.
