thanks for the detail Lori,
I did not know. so the meal after sabbath service is a large one then?
mine was today, after my church service: sirloin slow cooked in
crockpot with sweet onions, garlic and mushrooms, made a gravy. ate
over rice.
I think many american christians eat a very hearty sunday afternoon
or noon meal. it also often is a focal point for the weeks
activities with family and even friends or neighbors.
In fact, my church holds a church wide meal at least six times a year
on the first sunday of several months, and we just go downstairs from
the service to the meal. this is besides the thanksgiving and
christmas meals.
oh, this year we might have christmas eve service in july because of
our christmas blizzard forcing the cancelation of the original
christmas eve service. most churches in town did the same.
