Freelance Opportunities for Writers with Disabilities from Ethnically
Diverse Backgrounds in the U.S.

Proyecto Visión is looking for reporters with first person experience
with disability in ethnically diverse communities.

Reporters are needed to write articles about disabled youth from Latino
and other underserved populations in the U.S. documenting:

* success stories of finding jobs, advancing careers, getting an
education, or becoming community leaders
* experiences and challenges in obtaining education, training,
assistive technology, independent living services, or employment
* Latino and other community organizations representing diverse
populations reaching out to serve youth with disabilities
* disability organizations reaching out to serve youth in underserved
communities
* analyses of the situations of youth with disabilities in urban and
rural areas with high concentrations of ethnically diverse people
* interpretation of how new government programs, benefits, initiatives
or legislation impact youth with disabilities from diverse communities

Reporters will be expected to use a variety of resources and methods to
obtain information including conducting interviews and surveys,
attending meetings, networking, and using local or Web-based libraries
and information centers. Articles will be short, practical, and may be
submitted in English or Spanish.

Reporters will be compensated for their work on a per-article basis.
