Awesome suggetions, and thank you for pointing out the NFB Editors
list! I did not see that one, and will join today...I didn't realize
it's almost 5pm. I've been sooo busy with getting door prizes ready
for the State Convention, Brailling labels and recipes and preparing
to type up 20 pages of Braille tomorrow for Sunday's service, calling
people to remind them of a fundraiser conference call, conferring with
my EiC/President on a few details for the newsletter, and asking this
or that person to write reports or articles for the newsletter. Doing
a good job of a newsletter is hard work! *grin* I'm loving it already.

I'd love to read the article for the Maryland newsletter about the
trip to China. It sounds very interesting.

This month's newsletter will have the usual note about the monthly
meeting and the eat-out afterwards, a report on the state convention
this weekend (to be written after the wekend, of course), a Mark Your
Calendar section of fundraisers and local events and conferences,
reports on the recent yard sale's final count, a report on the Member
Drive last month, an article about a recent trip that a group of
members took to the NC Civil Rights Museum, an article I am writing
called "Decorating Your White Cane for Halloween: Silly or Awesome?"
about incorporating your white cane into a Halloween costume, such as
making it a shepherd's hook for a Little Bo Peep costume or a banana
tree for a monkey suit. I am also including a corny joke I wrote and
will share with the Writer's Division if youw ant...if you don't want
to hear it, don't ask for it *grin*

The newsletter is going to be so chock full of information, and I'm so
excited! It is a great creative outlet for me, and something that will
show my true love of journalism, which I have considered taking as a
minor.

Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas. I'm well on the way to
making this newsletter something really special for the local
community!
