I am about to post a story from the writing challenge.

"hoodlum and "hoodlums" show up in song lyrics going far back, as I 
find with a google search.  Bob Dillan and Billie Joel had them in 
some lyrics.
of course they show up in recent rap music.

here is what I think is the most well known occurrance of Hoodlum in 
song lyrics by the Coasters:
