Barbara,

When I was sighted, I had a photographic memory too.  I was extremely
involved in theatre in high school and my early twenties.  I would
literally see the text in my mind as it looked on the page.  This helped
me when memorizing lines and when performing.

I took a theatre class a couple of years ago and used JAWS to learn
lines.  Due to a nerve condition, Braille is not always the quickest
medium for me, unfortunately.  I found, though, that I was "seeing" the
lines in my head as they would appear on the page.  It helped to
construct a mental image of the lines stacked on one another like on a
print page.

Since I no longer read print, and since Braille is tedious at times, I
think my brain is evolving to learn new ways to receive and input info.
It is very interesting.
