Dear Robert, Beth and Jeff,
All of you have broadened my horizons immeasurably. I read all of Jeff's
blog posts. I also 'read' the submission guidelines on the Vision website.
Thank you for opening opportunities for all of us.
Thank you all for your work.
Jackie Williams

Subject: [stylist] From a panel guest
Ear Division and STYLIST Members
Below is a short message from Beth Finke, who was one of the guest speakers
at the division's annual meeting held in Orlando.
Thank you both for your good wishes -- it was a pleasure sitting on the
Writer's Division panel at NFB and I am flattered you asked.
I am "cc"-ing a Chicago writer who is blind here -- I met Jeff Flodin when
he enrolled in a memoir writing class I teach. These days I follow him via a
blog he writes for the Guild for the Blind here in Chicago. The blog is
called "Jalapeno's in the Oatmeal" and you can link to it here:
http://jalapenosintheoatmeal.wordpress.com/
Jeff is also involved in a new blog called "Vision Through Words" that
collects writings by people who are blind or visually impaired and publishes
them as blog posts, No pay involved, but a good way to get exposure for
writers who are blind. you might want to encourage folks from the Writer's
Division to take a look (okay a listen) and submit their work to Vision
Through Words:

But back to Jeff. He emailed me to ask about the panel I sat on in Orlando
--he wondered whether a recording of it might be available online at some
point. I thought I'd forward that query for one of you to answer, I figured
while doing that I could also send along the links Jeff needs in case he'd
like to sign up for the Writer's Division of national Federation of the
Blind.
Jeff, you will find all the NFB and Writer's Division links you need here
below Robert Newman's signature -- I forwarded his message below. Robert is
the president of NFB's writer's division.
Okay, enough. Time for me to hobble into the kitchen for another cup of
coffee -- thanks again for the messages, I thought the panel went well, so
good to hear it was well-received, too.
