[stylist] Emphasis

Hey Atty,

I've had the 'should thoughts be italicized' discussion on several writer's
lists, and about 50% say yes, while the other 50% say no. I fit into the
latter category, and have had several stories published which don't have
thoughts in italics. The way I figure it, the fact that they are thoughts
should be apparent to the reader, and if they aren't, you need to improve
the writing. One benefit is that when I want to emphasize a word, italics do
the job quite nicely.
