Here, Bridgit. It's written in quatrains as most of my stuff is.

     THE SORE THUMB

By Barbara Hammel

MY thumb hurts! My thumb hurts!
Ohhhh, the pain!
My thumb hurts! My thumb hurts!
It's making me insane!

Ohhhh, what can you do
When your thumb is sore?
I guess just complain,
And complain some more.

I guess you could sleep
So that you won't feel it
But then a baby cannibal
Might come and steal it.

I guess you could cry
To make it feel better
But all that will do
Is make your hand wetter.

So next time remember,
When sucking your thumb,
There's not room in your mouth
For a thumb; and some gum!

Barbara

Barbara,

Could you paste your poem into the email? I know it might not retain
it's structure, but these listserves are not very compatible with my
email server when it comes to attachments.

Sincerely,
Bridgit Kuenning-Pollpeter
