[stylist] Overdue for Barbara, humorous poem

Remember your "thumb" poem that so cracked me up? This is probably why. It
is similar to the First Grade Primer I wrote in 2005 that was of the same
ilk. (Note the "Enrichment" words that you would never find in the first
grade. Cannibal would be your enrichment word.

This poem was not in my computer. I scanned it, and the columns would not
read right. So I re-typed it right in the e-mail, but when I was ready to
send it, in the middle of the spell check, the computer froze. I lost it
all.

This time I am just pasting in the copy I made in my word documents. If it
is totally messed up format wise, I guess I do not care.

No spell check this time.

My laptop starts running hot, has lapses of function, and so I lay off
sometimes a day or two. I've stayed away for five days this time. Do you
suppose that the number of e-mails accumulated is why it malfunctions?
Overload effects me that way!

Incidentally, this was published in the Sandcutters, the quarterly of the AZ
State Poetry Society. There is no accounting for taste. I sent it in sort of
as a joke.

First Grade Primer

I stubbed my toe.

I stubbed my toe upon a rock.

I was so mad, you know.

I was so mad I kicked a block.

My knee went out. I shouted out.

I screamed in pain. T'was all in vain.

Spot wouldn't come. He thought me dumb.

I stubbed my toe. I kicked a block.

My knee went out. I shouted out.

Spot would not come. I am so dumb.

Oh, wait, dear Spot. Please wait for me.

I'll learn. You'll see. Please wait for me.

We'll head for home. You'll get your bone.

I turned to go-
