Bridget,
Aww, a boy! Sweet. Although those early ultrasounds tend to be less
than accurate.
When I had my ultrasound at fifteen weeks, we were told it was going to
be a girl. We were all geared up for a girl, to the point where my
mother went out and bought a few pink outfits. Well, imagine our
surprise when, at our next ultrasound we were told that "no doubt, it's
a boy". It felt sort of weird to have to get used to the idea; We had
already picked out a girls name and were getting ready to decorate the
nursery pink. smile. My significant other, Cameron, seemed a little
crestfallen at first; He was getting really excited about having a
little girl all his own to spoil. Grin. He had only ever been around
little baby girls before, so there was some mild apprehension. But it
passed in a flash. And of course, babies are precious whether they are
boys or girls.
Ha, Cameron had to greet the baby every morning and bid him goodnight
as well. It just goes to show--The dorky guys make the best husbands. smile.
Just so you know, I understand how you feel; I can't fathom how some
women absolutely love being pregnant. I mean, there are definitely some
bright sides to it; You don't necessarily have to justify your
cravings, for example. By the ninth month though, when you're a
beachball on legs, waddling and shuffling and maneuvering your way
through, you wish nothing but for it to be over so that you can finally
cary your wee one in your arms instead of your tummy.
All I can say is, get all the rest you can get now, treat it like a
vacation despite the impending stretch marks and the heartburn, and of
course the nausea. because when your precious bundle finally joins you
in this world, the following few months or so will feel like one never
ending day filled with joy, sleep deprivation, and poopy diapers. .
