Alt r w will get you to word count if you are using the regular ribbon. If
it doesn't tell you right off what the count is, then rout jaws to pc with
insert plus minus on the JAWS pad and arrow upwards. You can also use the
function key f6 in Microsoft word, then right arrow to it.

Lynda and others
The word count is under the Review Tab, and the sub-menu/grouping is
"Proofing."
(With JAWS, I use the virtual menus option- it takes the ribbons and sorts
them into something that looks like the old Word menus. And so when I want
to assist someone who isn't using the virtual menu option, I hope what I say
crosses over to the ribbon option --- I think so, JAWS is just reordering
and not relabeling, I think.)

When in Outlook and you wish to retrieve attachments --- #1 while still in
the list, where you can arrow up and down and see your various emails, like
in your Inbox get into the "File Menu" [alt+f] arrow down to "Save
Attachments" and press enter. You will have to give it an "Okay" by pressing
enter or space-bar and then tell it where you want the attachments to go.
#2 You can open the email and then do the same as described above.

opening attachments is easy in outllook. When you are in the inbox list of
messages, not actually in a message though, press the applications key and
arrow to save attachments. Its something like that; been a while since I
used outlook at when I used it at work; I believe it says view attachments..
Still another way is to say go to the file menu within the message. Arrow to
save attachments and then in that attachment dialogue box, press okay.
So that should do it, and if you have issues, call freedom scientific for
help

I Had outlook before, then when I got my knew computer about three years ago
I used windows live mail. I could open attachments with it. I remembered
how easy outlook was to use so I switched back to it recently and am now
having this problem. Maybe I should switch back to live mail. I don't know
I like outlook better but attachments are important.
Thank you for your thoughts. I just don't know what to do.

Andi,
Hotmail is my email server, but I use Outlook too, to actually go through
emails. I've never been able to retrieve attachments from NFB NET listserves
even when I was going to Hotmail to check email. For some, there will be a
link at the very end of the email for attachments, but I've never had this
either. It says a non-text portion of the email has been scrubbed, and no
attachments. Never been able to figure this out.
Sincerely,
Bridgit Kuenning-Pollpeter
