You have given the original definition for Epiphany with a capital 'E, but
the word has come to have a far broader meaning which I'm sure you will find
useful. Here are the second and third definitions from the Merriam-Webster
dictionary online. The third one is the one of which I am speaking.
2 an appearance or manifestation especially of a divine being 
3a (1) : a usually sudden manifestation or perception of the essential
nature or meaning of something (2) : an intuitive grasp of reality through
something (as an event) usually simple and striking (3) : an illuminating
discovery, realization, or disclosure b : a revealing scene or moment
