You're right about the email, though my dad kind of helped me
decide it.

Subject: [stylist] Writing Prompts & chortling at Vejas's email
address
Hi you all:
First --- Writing Prompts: I enjoy reading what you all write in
response to
posted prompts. And --- the reason you don't see much coming
from me in
response to these challenges meant to have us work at challenging
ourselves
to improve our craft --- I don't write one, nor take the time to
go line by
line and look for what I might suggest to look at for improvement
---
because the thought of doing it stresses me out! Guess I'm stuck
in a
mind-set where I've got stuff to do, and only so many stress
resources to
work with and adding one more thing is --- stressful and to be
avoided! But
hey, this is just where I am at. I love seeing you all mixing it
up, working
to better yourselves by this method.
Second: in relation to Vejas's chosen email address of
brlsurfer at gmail.com
--- for background, I personally am fascinated by what people
choose as an
email address. Funny, you can tell when you've run across a real
dye-hard
amateur radio buff, because the before-the-at-sign is clearly a
radio call
designation like- k7uij or w0egm (this second one is for Hank
Vetter, a
Omaha Chapter member and that first one is for a guy that you may
have seen
about on NFB lists and national conventions, Mike Freeman). And
some you'll
see are of blind guys who are super dog guide freaks (not saying
this
"freak" thing in a disrespectful manner), but an example here
might be
superdog at gmail.com Or another seem is a favorite sports team, a
religious
reference, or hoppy, personal talent of some kind, or maybe its
all in the
person's name, like mine newmanrl (Newman Robert Leslie).
And so getting to Vejas and his choice of b r l s u f e r --- I'm
thinking
down two different lanes of thought about his and I'm hoping he
will read
this and give us the secret to his choice- #1 My first thought
is, that the
brb r l which is the 3 letter contraction for Braille, and
putting that
with the surfer part of the email address, tells us that the
owner is a guy
who surfs the Internet by means of Braille. Then my second
thought is that
our friend here came up with this email address after his surfing
adventure
that we all read about in "The Braille Monitor." And so this guy
is someone
who is a blind guy who uses touch as his main mode to surf.
