What is poets and Writers?
What website is it from? Many sites don't have all the stories; they put the
stories in print only, but some is better than none. Yes, it seems like the
trend is for more education to be a professional writer or white collar
anything for that matter.
Where do you get poem a day from and is it free?

Bill,
Cute quatrain.
I got Poets and Writers for years when I could see. Now I get it on the web,
but it does not have all the articles, but news of all of there services,
contest deadlines, and much more. I also get "Poem a day, and keep a folder
of all those I think worthy.
I tend to not like poetry that is non-accessible, which many MFA's write.
Some are very accessible, but not the majority.
I think it is a club, which once you have that credential, there are certain
recognizable aspects to your poetry that qualify you to get teaching
positions and win awards, which serves to strengthen the market for MFA's.
It is very expensive to go this route.
After reading the poem-a-day, I always open the author link and hear the
background. Most have MFA's and many of the old traditional poets do not.
Happy for your interest in poetry.
Jackie

Good day again.
Following my discovery of the Poets & Writers mag I was inspired to write a
short verse.
I was reading an article on debut poets and noticed most of these folks have
an M. F. A. degree, which made me feel a bit out of my league. So here's a
short ode to those of us who don't have all the formal training but still
find creative inspiration.
I am of the rabble.
My words may sound like babble.
Sometimes they have the spirit of a rebel,
And stir the waters as if a tossed pebble.
