I think Petra's a girl's name, though.  My brother's name is

Yes, Petra is a form of Peter just like Pedro is Peter in 
Spanish.  Petra
is, I believe, eastern European, but I'm no expert.  I know a 
Petra from
Russia so that's why I assume, grin!
