[stylist] Agenda

Hi Lori,
Yes, I think ours works because we are in person, together, at one place.
We all know each other very well. We are on the same page. It would not work
if we were strangers, or worked in different media. The four of us know each
other very well. We are all visual artists, and work in the same medium. I
am the only one with sight loss. So this has nothing whatsoever to do with
blind issues. We have a lot in common and have done many things together in
past years; exhibitions, classes, etc. I think it would not work if we did
not know each other so well, and if we were not visual artists. We are into
having FUN, that is what we are all about, and our days together will be
spontaneous and random because that is how we are. Mirth, frivolity, and
chance will reign. haha

One excellent thing that can be done is to go to an arts program where there
are both artists and writers at the same time. That is a really rewarding
experience. I have been a fellow at the Hambidge Center in Rabun Gap,
Georgia and at the Vermont Studio School in Johnson, VT. These residencies
are for professionals in their fiels, not amatures or hobby-types. They are
very selective and the competition for a space there is high. But, so worth
it. I really encourage anyone here who is writing professionally to try for
a residency because they are life changing opportunities to network with
others.

Lynda
