Brad,
Thanks for explaining; I agree about the busy thing. And if you are working
and contributing to the community, you are showing NFB philosophy anyway. We
can talk all we want to blind people whether on the internet or in person,
but if we are not out and doing things in the community as productive
citizens, then we are not living NFB philosophy.
Since I'm on break, I will catch up on this list messages. I really enjoy
everyone's writing and comments here. And, I'll see if I can comment on some
once a week as well.

Guys,
I think some of the sluggish
writing/evaluating is due to what Robert
referred to the other day, being busy.
In my case I run a business which has its
demands: work the route, pay bills, order
product, and so forth;, I’m also taking a couple
self-paced courses, trying to get some web
content done on two different sites plus figure
out how to build one of them from bare bones
content manager yikes, put together marketing
ideas and otherwise work a business plan, and try
to get my weekly goals I need to get done in
order to launch a freelance commercial writing
business this spring/summer. The most writing
I’ve done is the monthly songwriting tip column I
do. I even put my music life on hold because I
knew things would get tight. In fact, my love, my
first love, more specifically my guitar, thinks
I’m cheating on her because I have stood her up
more than taken her out for a play haha.
I try to offer what I can, when I feel I have
something to offer, and also try to give as much
detail as I can or am able, but I am limited to
how much I can do strictly on time’s demand, not
unwillingness to do so. Even then, I still fall
short of the tasks I need to do.
Perhaps it sounds harsh, but I generally offer
input on those who have done same for me. Not out
of spite for those who haven’t’ as I could easily
spend all kinds of time reading and helping where
I can because I not only like to help, I also
learn a ton that way. but I do feel if someone
has taken time to look at one of my pieces, I owe
them the same courtesy . I hope I’ve managed to
do that anyway. I’d been thinking about that
earlier this week in fact, and thought maybe I
can at least pick one piece a weekk to do a
feedback. Perhaps that seems a pittance, but
that’s a lot from this end at the moment.
At any rate, I’m sure it’ll pick back up again. I
will say the mantra I say in songwriting
evaluations, it is good to get several sources of
input and not just rely on one or two of them.
