[stylist] autobiography and getting sued

It's not a bad idea to get someone's permission to use his name. However, so long as what you are saying is true and not libelous, you'd probably be safe. Dr. Jernigan used to say that if he wrote truth in the Braille Monitor, no one could sue. It was an issue once when we wrote about someone we helped, and his mother got furious and threatened to sue. However, her son told her not to, that he'd been helped, so what did she want? Not to let anyone know her son was blind was my guess. It wasn't realistic of her and the son knew it. The account was true, and we hoped it would help others. No one sued.

That was very touching. Open heart surgery with
the written word as the scalpel. Any poetic
structure aside, you made me feel a strong
portion of what you felt. I say "poertion"
because there's no way I could feel what you felt
in the first place. I liked the honesty of the
"Don't tell me" parts. It says "I know I know,
but let me have my greif, I need it right now".
