[stylist] My attempt at poetry

I like this. My initial attempt at poetry was called "The Drunken Ride of Paul Revere." What I remember of it was:

...He'd had a couple of drinks or more

and stumbled out of the barroom door...

It was published in my high school literary journal and I no longer have a copy. I like the original Paul Revere poem, and managed to get a copy in a collection being sold at our library's weekly used book sale.

Wish I had mine, though.
Lori

Okay, I'm totally a novice, but since so many of you have posted poems,
and in honor of poetry month, here's my crack at a poem.

Oh man I could really use a beer
All day long I sat on my ass reading,
Stupid Psych chapters,, I wish I wasn't here

Maybe I'll change my name to Vladimer,
Find a cute girl and begin breeding
Man I could use that beer

It feels like I haven't been to a pub in a year
Holy shit, is that woman breast feeding?
I might be too drunk and just need to get out of here

On my way out I take a look in the mirror,
And realize my face is bleeding
Oh man I could really use a beer

Went back to One-eyed Jake's looking for that dear,
hottie with the smile, but her boyfriend is impeding,
all my moves. Oh man, I wish he wasn't here

All these dudes think they're tough, but I show no fear
Even when their knuckles are kneading,
My face into dough. Oh man I could really use a beer
Can someone call a doctor? I wish I wasn't here.

Bridgit
