Hey Chris,
I think it is both of the reasons you mentioned. Plus, I just think it is
fun to read what others write in order to ad to your writing. Does that
make sense? If not, let me know and I'll explain it.

Hi Tessa,

Welcome to the group. I'm Chris, a writer and editor in Connecticut. While I
enjoy writing essays and articles from time to time, fiction is my real
passion. I've tried to write with a friend a couple of times, and it hasn't
really worked out that well for me (although obviously some people work very
well together). Is the reason you are looking for a writing partner because
you need motivation, or have doubt about your writing and ideas? There are a
handful of writers on this list who can help you improve your writing, and
help determine if your ideas are worth pursuing. As for motivation, that's
something most of us battle with. One thing I have found helpful is to have
a writing challenge with a writer friend. For instance, I have a friend in
Tennessee. A couple of summers ago we challenged each other to write 2500
words per week. If you reached your word count, you got a plus. At the end
of the summer, the person with the least number of pluses had to buy the
other person dinner. I had a hamburger with a slice of peach pie, as I
recall . smile.

Looking forward to reading some of your work.

chris
