Congrats on the poem. I remember it, and it was rather good.

I want to express my "thanks" to the writing contest "readers" for the
two awards I received for 2 memoirs I wrote this past year. I very much
appreciate your choice of my work. And, "thank you" to the NFB for
sponsoring the contest every year, as it greatly encourages all of the
writers who participate. My check arrived this week, and another "thank
you" for that!

Latest news from me:
My Sestina, "When We Dance Together" will be published in the September
issue of Wordgathering. I wrote it when we had a prompt, given by
Chris, I think. The prompt challenged us to take a line or two from a
song lyric, and create a poem from that idea. The song I chose was a
very old country western song by Ernest Tubb. I was really delighted to
have this poem selected for my first appearance in Wordgathering.

My art and writing life has been super busy. Right now, I am working on
developing a website for my art, and one for my writing, plus I will be
moving my blog over to wordpress very soon.

I did an interview with Suzanne Gibson (a blind painter). It was just
published on Touch Art Blog. You can read it at this link:

es-an-interview-with-artists-suzanne-gibson-and-lynda-lambert/

Touch Art is a unique program in Pittsburgh, PA - it's a series of
workshops that teach blind people how to make art. The blog is dedicated
to telling the stories of blind people who are developing their creative
talents. The program is in partnership with the Pittsburgh Center for
the Arts.

The final thing I want to let you know is that our two person exhibition
(two blind artists) is called Vision and Revision. We are currently
scheduling the venues where it will appear - and it will open at the
first venue in March 2014. Very exciting for us and getting a lot of
attention for our cause - though we might have sight loss, we do not
have loss of vision. If you know of a museum or gallery that may want
to sponsor our show, let me know! We have already scheduled several
venues at this early date.
