[stylist] Any news from our east coast friends?

A bit, yes. We still need to have our boiler room checked for mold, but because it is so hot and dry in there, it may not be a problem. Our construction guy is still dealing with the destruction of his own house.

Lori,
You were obviously luckier than your neighbor, but what an ordeal! I hope
you're feeling better.

Belated, but here goes: Yes, we were able to get a new car, which is fine
now that we've gotten the initial bugs out of it. We were out of power ten
or eleven days, and had to fix our boiler twice (the second time because it
had air in it). Our neighbor across the street was not so lucky. I guess
his house is built lower than ours, but he lost his whole first floor. We
only had to replace our boiler's motor, and were within an inch of getting
flooded. Next time, I plan to evacuate. At the time of the storm, however,
I wasn't feeling well and was not up to it. We were able to get gas a day
or two before the lines disappeared. The snow storm was an inconvenience,
but not a disaster. Now here's hoping for better weather from now on.
Pretty cold here, though.
Lori

Lori,
That is a harsh thing to deal with. Did your family get the new car yet?
Hope you got power now. I just heard that the New york area got hit again
with snow. So, acording to the news, people had power a few days and now
lost it again. Power outages happened today and yesterday. They will be in
my prayers. Oh, and the gas shortage too. On my way to my nephew's baptism,
we saw several gas stations closed due to no fuel. I understand they are
still rationing gas in new jersey and new york. So hope you have enough gas
to get through the days til you are allowed to refill it.
Ashley

We lost power, along with about half of Long Island. Our car drowned. Had
to get a new one, but there isn't much gas around. We will miss our state
convention, darn it. So will most of us on LI. We do not have power back.
We are staying with friends and dealing with the cold.

Myrna

In the DC area, we didn't have it as bad as they got it in New Jersey and
New York. We didn't lose power at our house and we only had one large
branch come down in our yard (not on the house thank goodness.

I think about 200,000 people lost power in the DC/Baltimore area. Most lost
it for less than one day, so that was a blessing all things considered.

Hoping the world treats you well.

God bless.

Shawn

I have not heard but my thoughts are with them. We don't have to deal with
the snow but the power loss and the other stuff I know only too well.
