Donna,
Thanks. I researched it and saw the website. Wow, I did not realize they had
a first edition on bard. I'll have to
read it then! This should be cool. I 've always wanted to read a collection
of work by blind people. I've read a few memoirs, but not something like
this.

I'm confused like you all are. The anthology was mentioned online. But
it did not indicate they had a second edition. It meerly indicates they will
publish one and accepted submissions until March 15.

I'm glad many of you are in it. When it becomes accessible, I'll read it.

Ashley,
As I understand it, Behind Our Eyes is a journal of writing contributed by
blind people -- us telling our own stories. The first edition came out years
ago (2007, I think), and that one is on NLS's BARD site. They recently took
submissions for a second edition, which is apparently out, though there
doesn't seem to have been much done yet to notify the contributors or put it
into an accessible format. It is put together by the folks who put out
Magnets & Ladders, which is an online magazine featuring the work of people
with disabilities. The group is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
HTH,
Donna

And what is behind our eyes? Is this just a book or more?

Hi All,
I visited the Behind Our Eyes website and couldn't find any indication that
the new book is out. I Googled it and the first edition was there on Amazon,
but I haven't found the one that Lynda and Myrna saw. So, I wrote to them,
telling them of our discussion today and that Bridgit wants to acknowledge
the contributors in Slate & Style. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
Donna
