I just sat here and listened to the new edition of S & S and wanted to say what a nice job you all do in putting this together.
I truly appreciate the hard work that goes into such a project. Thank you, to each of you who labor on it and bring so many streams together into a rich river of words that has meaning. .

Jackie's reflection piece on "organizing" her clutter was hilarious. After living in our home for over 46 years, I can understand it so well. It made me smile, and it made me think of my own "stuff." My husband always says, "Just don't worry about it! The kids will have to clear it out after we are gone. On the other hand, I am always trying (hopelessly trying) to keep it organized. But when I clear out a spot, he soon fills it back up again.

One thing I did just last week was to open up a cedar chest that held some special hand knitted clothing from my children's early years. I had knit them. I made a little "gift package" for my son and sent it back home with his daughter. He called me last night to say how precious the things are, and how he loved seeing himself at age 2 and 3 in photos, and then looking at the tiny little outfits he had just received. He said that seeing himself in the photos, he realized he was so small then. But, when holding the actual clothes, he had such a realization of just how small he really had been.

I have another bag to take to my youngest daughter in KY. I am leaving on Sunday.
And, I gave a bag of my oldes't daughters little special things to her daughter who is now 31 years old and has three children of her own.
Just a little dent in the "clutter" of things I have saved here, I know.
I found Jackie's piece to be so humorous and witty, yet it is also bittersweet.
Thanks for a good laugh this afternoon, Jackie!
Lynda
