Okay, that would be awesome.

But isn't NLS also working on a app so you could read BARD books on
other devices like IPhones?

There will be future capabilities that use the wifi on the 
Stream.  The DAISY Consortium has written specifications and designed 
refrence implementations which would allow you to browse a library's 
collection and download books directly to your player.  There has 
been some use in Europe and Asia I think, and we are likely to see 
development in the u.s. in the future.
