Barbara, the title alone got me... and the poem was wonderful! Happy
Easter to you!

Subject: [stylist] rainbow poems
Does anyone know any good rainbow poems? I have fun writing one now and
then but mainly they are too silly or stupid to post. I guess they are
just
my way of keeping the creative juices flowing. Alphabet poems and rainbow
poems are my fall-back topics when nothing else is working.
Here is a rainbow poem I can share because it’s probably the first one I
wrote and it wasn’t a “writing for writing’s sake” poem.
THE RAINBOW'S CHILD
by Barbara  Hammel
GOD, I know one thing is true.
It is that You love me so.
So much that You created
My life within the  rainbow.
The life-giving blood that
Flows from toe  to head,
The anger that I sometimes feel
Are in the color  red.
The fire of life burns in my soul
As orange  as it can be;
And courage to face what's yet to come
With strength  and bravery.
Yellow is joy and happiness
That come to fill each day
And sunshine and the warmth of love
Toward all who come my way.
Tranquility and serenity
Survive  through hard times that I've seen;
And that peace of mind I find in them
Is in the color green.
Tears I cried in sorrow when
There seemed to be no one but You;
A broken heart, and spirit, and character
Are in that streak of blue.
The hard reality of always saying
Good-bye  to all that one holds dear;
Like depression, it's the bottom,
That purple which sometimes isn't clear.
I thank You, God, for making me
A child of the rainbow;
Something I can only  be
Because You love me so.
Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance. -- Carl Sandburg
