Man! Sometimes I hate this iPhone!ÊLynda--and others--I have spent what free time I've had for the last few days looking for information about virelais. I've discovered the rhyming scheme ant that it's two longer lines and then a short and that they are nine-line stanzas. Rhyme schee is aabaabaab, bbcbbcbbc, and so on--for anyone whom this catches their interest. But what I can't discover is is there a certain number of syllables to be had in each line. One site said 5-5-2 pattern but that's the only plce I saw that fact mentioned.
