Actually, as a creative writing major, I can inform you that
journaling
is covered and encouraged. Creative writing books will address
journaling, and most creative writers journal and encourage other
writers to follow suit. So it's a very well-covered writing
format.

Hello Jim,
Well you don't have to be a "writer" to keep a journal.
I've been a writer since I was young and journal writing I've
discovered isn't something that is covered much in creative or
other writing aspects and hopefully this will start to change
some of that.

Hi Amy,
Thank you so much. When I do write in my journal, I use a
password protected Word document. I don't view myself as a
creative writer as I imagine many of this list's members are.
Mostly, I'm just trying to get better at putting words together.
I've played a bit with poetry. I have so far not attempted much
fiction. I feel that I am good at explaining how to do things,
though, which is why I have sometimes gravitated to technical
writing. I use my journal for sensitive reasons. It would be
nice to hear what approaches are out there.

Thanks.

Jim

Amy

I may (or may not) attend your seminar.

I know you will be up against a financial planning seminar and a
seminar
on the new health insurance law, so material for 34 people will
probably
be more than enough.

Amy

Hello NFB Members,
My name is Amy McGarrah. I am in the process of making final
preparations to give a workshop on journal writing/diary keeping
at the
NFB of Marforand State convention in Ocean City in November.
What I need
to know from fellow federationists is how many would be
interested in
participating in such a workshop. I have enough supplies for 34
participants, doesn't mean that more can't come. ge of
Journaling has
been a part of my life since I was a child. I've been keeping
journals/diaries since about the age of nine or ten. Journaling
is
something that anyone, whether a writer or not can do. The
purpose of
this workshop is to teach people who may not know about the
process and
what it takes to keep a journal. Some supplies will be provided,
but if
attendees want to bring their own, that's fine too. Anyone who
is
interested in attending the workshop, please get in touch with me
via
email: amyemcgarrah at gmail.com between now and November 7th so
that I can
create a list of possible attendees. Thank you, Amy
