Dear STYLIST and Writers' division Member

Do read down through my message to you, then continuing on, you will find a
very nice message from Bridgit. And yes, we all need to thank Bridgit for
the work she and her editing crew had put into Slate & Style over the past
four years. She and they worked hard to create a magazine of high quality.

On the reason for this change: The Division leadership decided it was time
to revamp our approach to the purpose for Slate & Style. Our vision for this
publication can be summed up in the following two statements: Slate & Style
will be a platform to showcase members work, winners of our annual writing
contests, and to offer instructional articles to further our craft. Second,
by capitalizing on the process of becoming published within the pages of
Slate & Style, our magazine will serve as a learning tool, a
learning/proving ground as it were, to raise the level of skill and
confidence of all who submit.

With the above said, here is the part where all of our membership can help
this come true: If you are a person that would enjoy being a part of our
team of editors, our critique-and-mentors, write me at: newmanrl at cox.net

In closing for now: Watch for our publishing guidelines, and be you an
experienced writer, or a beginner, submit, submit, submit; expect that you
will get feedback, and if warranted, you will get input and encouragement to
make improvements upon your writing.

Dear Stylist and Division members,

The NFB Writers' Division board has decided to take Slate & Style in a
different direction. I wanted an opportunity to address our readers and have
a formal good-bye to readers, so I will have to address you on Stylist.

I've enjoyed my time as editor for Slate & Style. I tried my best to make
the magazine cohesive and organized. I appreciate all the positive feedback
I've received since being appointed editor.

For the last four years, with the release of each issue, our readers have
had high praise for the magazine. I've been so pleased to bring what talents
and abilities I have in order to produce the best S & S I can. I've always
been encouraged by your positive comments. And thanks to all of you who have
continued to submit to Slate & Style.

Eve Sanchez and Myrna Badgerow will take over the editorship of Slate &
Style. I wish them well, and I know we are all eager to read their first
issue.

So for now, I step down as editor. This will allow me to pursue other
interest, both with the Federation and personal. Thanks again to all of you
who have supported me.

And I wish you all a very merry holiday season.

Sincerely,

Bridgit Kuenning-Pollpeter
