It's hard, but yes there are still some out there, and I realize how 
fortunate I was.  Certainly it was before the big houses began to merge, and 
it seemed that things really went hay-wire.  I was extremely fortunate to 
find a wonderful mentor in Barbara Brett, someone I met when I submitted my 
first published book.  As I said I definitely count my writing blessings.
