[stylist] Making Downloadable links

Hi Donna,
The link to the picture is correct. All you need to do is to instruct your audience to right click the picture and pick Save As. If they use Internet Explorer, the wording on the menu reads "Save as picture." I forget wording for Firefox and Chrome, and other browsers. I don't know how to do this on a smart phone.

Thanks.

Jim

Subject: Making Downloadable links

Hi Jim,
When I did reply all, it just went to the list. Robert sent me your address off-list. The members addresses used to be displayed for me, but all I get now is the beginning including on my own. I must have changed something when I re installed Outlook earlier this month.

Anyway, I really appreciate your willingness to help me with making a downloadable link for my book cover.

I bought a domain from WordPress.com:

http://DonnaWHill.com

Anyway, I used their media e-mail upload option to upload the book cover as a .jpg (2.39mb). To insert it into a post, I use their hotkey Alt+Shift+m and put the file URL in one edit field and the alt text in another. I use the text editor, because it's easier for me to write code (<h2> ...</h2>, <i> ... </i>, etc) than to use the toolbar.

So, when I inserted the photo into a page draft, this is what shows up in the text editor
Block quote

Hill book cover shows cave scene (stalactites reflected in underground lake & hand holding the Heartstone of Arden-Goth): photos, Rich Hill; design, Lizza Studios" />
Block quote end

So what can I do to this to make it open a download window? If you want to, post your response to the list so others can benefit.
Thanks,
Donna
