Bridgit, have you discovered "The L Word"?
A straight friend of mine described it as "Paton Place for lesbians."
Most of the series is love scenes. Well, maybe not love, at least not
always, but you get my drift.

Yes, and gay main characters are becoming more and more acceptable and
common place. There's still a lot to do with gay rights, but strides
have been taken, and you may find more publishers nowadays accepting of
a gay character than even five years ago.

I've read quite a bit of novels lately with gay characters, though
admitedly not main characters, though they were important characters
nonetheless. And film and TV are displaying more and more gay
characters. No laughing, but one of my guilty pleasures is the soap
General Hospital, and there are a couple of gay characters on the show
who are main players. And a week or two ago, there was a love scene
between two gay characters, so that's pretty monumental.

Hi there,

Some agents might be very in to it and there are also GBLT friendly
publishers also.

Don't give up on it just cause he or she is gay!
Timing is everything. There is a huge movement around same sex couples
getting rights, and though there are still people who discriminate our
society is evolving to higher thinking all the time.

There is a nitch for it and if you search out some of the publishers
that
accept lesbian and gay lit, some of them don't even require agents.

Write on,
Atty
