Amen to that. I've never got it to work.

Thea, there is a drag and drop on Word Press for enabling social media
shares and I think something else, and I had to get sighted help for that.
It's not something you run into all the time though.

Hi Thea,
In your defense, drag and drop doesn't work much for any screen reader that
I know of on the web.

Okay, but I've tried to be part of the solution. I just am not getting
anywhere, so after a while, I move on to something I can use.
I don't understand computer programming. I couldn't create a script to save
my soul. OK maybe I could learn to get my computer to greet me with terms of
endearment and affirmation each time I turn it on. LOL But as to teaching
Jaws to recognize pics and choose images on a site like Triond? I don't
know.
Like you said, though, you're not saying anyone here isn't doing their
utmost best to learn their screenreaders and read the help file.
For instance, I've learned the keystrokes for drag and drop, but I've never
found it effective.
I spent an hour with two lines of text that I tried to drag and drop, and it
never worked.
I always got an error message that slips my mind at present.

We sometimes also want a solution without sharing in the work. Many have
reached a point where we feel entitled, but few want to take an active part
in solutions. Just my two cents.

Hi,
I do accessibility work a lot. In my experience, most people want to make
their stuff accessible. They just don't know what accessibility is, or how
it affects people with disabilities. Most people assume, naturally enough,
that whoever wants to can simply just use their stuff.
And one of my pet peeves is when someone who should know how to use their
screen reader better complains that something is inaccessible, because they
don't want to take the time to use the help available to them. We make
ourselves look bad when this happens.

Sorry. I'm a little cranky today. I need to do my journaling.

Jim

Think I'll document my experiences with Triond on my new blog, then spread
it on Social Media like butter on bread. Hahahaha. Thea

Hi Thea,

Welcome. I get so frustrated when this happens. If writing letters isn't
working and there is no phone, all you can do really put a claim against
them, or have all your blind friends write them too. I always write a letter
if I run into issues. Even if nothing happens I stand up for our comunity.
Sometimes it works great! Sometimes I get nothing back.

All you can do is your best!

Well met,
Atty
