[stylist] Jim & Robert, a solution RE: Help please - Jaws & Word 2010

Hi Donna,
That makes sens. I didn't think of that. I was thinking that some Word setting was changed, and was looking in that direction. I'm glad it stopped doing that on you.

Jim

Jim & Robert,
I got many answers, but the one that worked was from the NFB of PA list. I
had to go to Insert F2 and find the settings center. There's a search box
and I entered "indent" and only one item was found. It was called something
like Indents Jaws speak and for whatever reason it was on. When I turned it
off, the problem was gone.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help! Now, I can put the Xanax away. *grin*
Donna

Hi Donna,
Hopefully, you haven't made too many changes to your JAWS settings. I
dislike being radical about things, but I so far haven't found the answer to
your question. You could back up your settings folder and try to repair JAWS
to see if that fixes the problem. Since I don't like radical surgery,
though, you also might want to call FreedomScientific Tech support, to see
if they can give you a good answer. I can also keep looking to see what I
figure out.

Thanks.

Jim

Hi Jim,
OK, I changed it to Word Classic, and it's still doing the same thing.
Reading line by line it starts each new line in a slightly higher pitched
voice and says, "One inch." Sometimes, at the top of the page it says, "1.25
inches, one inch." I'm guessing the 1.25 is the top margin. If I read using
Say All, it doesn't do it, but I don't use Say All much when editing. It
even says the margin on blank lines.

Is there some way to reset all of the Word and Jaws settings to default so I
could start over from scratch?"
Thanks for sticking with me on this.
Donna

Hi Donna,
The name of the scheme is Word Classic, rather than Windows Classic. And
while I'm at it, exactly what words keep repeating over and over? In other
words, what does it say about the margins? I mean quote it exactly.

Thanks.

Jim

Hi Friends,
I don't know what I've done, but Jaws keeps announcing the margins when I
read line by line. I'm not sure if I accidentally made a change to Jaws or
Word. I've been trying to figure it out with no success. Any help would be
greatly appreciated; it's driving me nuts.
Thanks,
Donna
