Barbara,

First, never apologize for what you write. True, this could be considered controversial, but like writers have never touched on taboo issues? And yes, of course others feel the same way as you.

I think this is a powerful, thought-provoking poem, and regardless of what side you take on this issue, it's good for all of us to hear the other side out and reflect.

Keep writing no matter the subject matter.

Bridgit

  FOREVER GONE

by Barbara Hammel

Some folks kill the baby before it comes to birth,

They overanalyze and question what's the worth.

They see the growing form, they hear the steady beat,

And still they second-guess, debate, decide, delete.

Gone now is that baby that never had a chance,

Inspiration succumbed to logic's edit dance.

So, I didn’t want to comment before I pasted it but what do you think? I’m sure I’m not the only way who feels this way about things I write, am I?

Barbara
