Hunger Games is considered Young Adult dystopian, and I would categorize it
as speculative fiction.

Hi everyone. I wanted to send out an invite to anyone who enjoys fantasy, or
horror, or not sure what category The Hunger Games would go into. In case
that one made anyone's head spin, you can be interested in just one and
still find this of use. It's an invite to any of the several RPG play by
email games I help run. They're awesome as it's really fun combined creative
writing with others in the worlds you love. It's building a story, like a
book you'd be reading, but you work with other writers. We've got groups for
Harry Potter, two groups in two different time periods of the Potterverse,
George R. R. Martin's Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire, Robert
Jordan's Wheel of Time, The Hunger Games, and we've got two completely
original games. We've got one general fantasy for dragons, fairies, wizards,
angels/demons, dragons oh my...Whatever you can think of is welcome in that
world, and both book and original characters of your own making are welcome.
And we've got a horror one that's like that except for horror characters.
For example, the creation of Frankenstein is in there as well as Freddy
Krueger, his twin sister and her family, Dracula, Renfield, Dorian Gray,
witches, dark creatures from myth and more. So there are groups for about
everyone and it's very fun interaction. A brief example of how it works is
like this. Lets use the Potterverse for example. I write many characters
there including Severus Snape. I am the only one who is allowed to write
him. So if you've a character you're the only one who plays that character
and so on. I write as Severus in 3rd person and if he's talking to Potter
or encounters him in the hall, the torment begins. LOL. For both of them,
and Potter's player replies to my post in kind. You include dialog, but also
movements, thoughts, expressions, just like you'd see in the book. And
original characters are welcome so long as they're logically worked into
things. If anyone is interested in any of these groups or has more
questions, feel free to mail me at severus13 at gmail.com and I'm glad to
answer anything as well as send you whatever group promos you're interested
in including the group address. The promos tell what each group is about,
what's currently happening, the time line,ETC. We are specific about what
time period we're at as anything before it is like the books, and anything
after we can change as we go as what's the point of rewriting the books? We
only ask that things remain in character. I.E Severuus and Harry aren't just
going to suddenly be hangin' out. LOL. WOW I ended up writing far more than
I intended here. LOL. It's just been such a great thing for my writing to
develop as well as my plotting strategy, and the interaction with others has
been priceless. I feel it's also helped me with overcoming writer's block
and the more I write the better I get. The groups are play by email so it's
nice as you can just post whenever you feel like it.
Anyway, had to toss that out there for anyone who might be interested in
any of the groups.
