Hi everyone. A few years ago when my and my husband's co-written fantasy books were out with a publisher that has since crashed and burned, we were having author interviews, book reviews by pro reviewers, all that good stuff, and one of those to review our book Dark Mage, which I'm happily in the process of having reedited for resubmission somewhere, did her own writing. She also had a writer's Zine and she also did a very neat thing, a character blog for a wizard she wrote. IT was interesting, as it wasn't roleplay because there was no interaction. Just the character sharing his thoughts or what he did that day, experiences ETC. It is a different angle than roleplay and I"m not sure it can get as far in potential character growth and development, but it is still tantalizing nonetheless. None of my characters at the time were interested, but those we're currently working with in the 2 books we're writing that are connected in a series rformat, re more tech savvy and so for that reason perhaps more interested. At least one is. LOL. At present, though, he's just more having little sayings about things rather than a full blog, so I may share those. His wanting to write those down and share them reminded me of the lady's character blog and what a neat and innovative thought I found it to be. So though I've not done it it was so darned cool I had to share it with you all. I wish I remembered her name. I bet Ishamael does. And her zine too. IT had book reviews and the nice things. We were one of her first author interviews and it was great. We'd had other people interview us who weren't nearly as good, clearly put or easy to work with so That was great.
Anyway...
