Bridget, That sounds great. Congratulations on a fantastic day with the
chapter and community. Braille is so important and I think doing things
like this, not only brings it to light to the sighted community members,
but helps the new or hesitant Braille readers feel more comfortable with
it.
Question though, just for my future reference on doing these types of
activities. What was the point of covering the Braille dots with the
cereal? I think I am not quite understanding something here.
I could just see your little boy running with bells on. Cute.
Oh hey, to share. a while back I was working a family day event at our
local rehab center. I was doing Braille cards for the participants. My
girls were there chilling while I worked and I had Brailled their names on
little note cards for each of them. Totally forgot about it until a couple
of days ago. My 5 year old had brought out a little box she has that is
filled with her most prized treasures. I asked if I could see the box.
There was not a lot in it. A single marble, a string of beads from a
friend, a bracelet a favorite teacher had given her and a note card with
her name in Braille.
Precious.
Well, thanks for sharing. Keep on building.
