[stylist] Slate and Style

Just adding my two cents worth, but I do see the sense (no pun intended) in only accepting electronic payments especially for a national division because when treasurer's change, and they will, and really any position for that matter, it can be difficult to handle cash and checks because you don't want anything slipping through the cracks. And the chosen bank for the division may not be accessible in every place where treasurer's live. Plus, when done electronically, no one has to physically do anything other than on the computer. And PayPal is a very safe way to make and accept payments. I know no group or division wants to exclude anyone, and perhaps special arrangements can be made, but few entities these days accept checks and especially cash. It's simpler, often easier and just the way of the world. And there's also the argument that handling cash and checks is not always accessible for blind people, though plenty of means exist nowadays allowing better accessibility for cash and check payments for blind people. But at the end of the day, only accepting electronic payments makes much more sense and is simpler than handling physical payments, especially for a national division with members who only meet in person once a year.

I have no clue what the division's actual stance is on this issue. Just making one point. Just my opinion.

Eva,
Some of us cannot attend convention. Some of us will not use PayPal or our credit cards on the web.
I have always been able to pay both my membership fee and contest entry fees by check to Robert.
Will you make this option available again from now on?
