I received this yesterday and thought someone here might be interested. The job looks like a really great opportunity with lots of variety and good pay. It doesn’t say where it is located and my guess is that you’d mainly work from home, attending conferences and meetings as needed.

NJJA Seeking Part-Time Communications Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Communications Coordinator supports the management, executive leadership and NJJA Board in crafting internal and external communications and messaging in line with the annual strategic plan. The Communications Coordinator will manage social media efforts for the organization, act as editor for the quarterly newsletter, assist in media relations and public relations, and assist in developing and crafting internal communications.
The ideal candidate will have an academic background in journalism, advertising/public relations, communications studies or related field. Strong writing and editing skills in short and long-form styles is a necessity. Knowledge of AP style is a plus.
Core Responsibilities
a.. Manage social media communications on Facebook, Twitter.
b.. Write press releases, news stories, talking points memos, website content, grant applications and other marketing copy.
c.. Develop and revise in-house marketing materials.
d.. Event photography and photo editing.
e.. Assist in developing annual strategic communications plan.
f.. Plan and execute marketing and PR campaigns for fundraising, NJJA programs, and advocacy efforts.
g.. Train and educate board members on best use of new media/communications technologies.
h.. Media monitoring of online and traditional news sources.
i.. Tracking and analytics for social media efforts and marketing campaigns.
j.. Assist NJJA staff with other tasks as required.
Job Requirements
a.. Bachelor's degree preferred, but can be substituted for training and experience.
b.. Strong written and verbal communications skills
c.. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
d.. Knowledge of AP style.
e.. Proficient with major social media platforms.
f.. Ability to work well with others.
Compensation
a.. This position is a grant funded and allows for approximately 25 hrs./wk.
b.. This is a 'Contracted' position.
c.. Depending upon skills and ability the salary range will be from $20-$25 per hour.
d.. The position offers wonderful schedule flexibility
