Hi you all

2 things: First a user guide; then a request.read both, please

#1 We have several people saying that they cannot get to some of the
functions, or posts that are part of our page. And so, I've been asking
around for someone to help us out, and look over our FB page and give us a
short analysis, with a tutorial on how to access what is there. And so Julie
Johnson has done so and below is what she has written:

**

I just went really quickly to Facebook at looked at the writer's division
page. It is a page and not a group, as you thought. There are only a few
entries, which may be why Donna is not finding a lot. The link is called
"show more" the most recent post was about how the writer's division had
changed it's profile picture. If you enter on the "show more" link it will
show the previous posts. There is one by Linda L and something about Mark
Ricabono and his family. If someone wanted to post on the timeline, JAWS
users could press e to find the next edit box. Use the arrow key after
locating the edit box to move up one line to make sure the box is the one to
post to the timeline. Move back down to the box, enter forms mode, if you
need to do that, type your text and then either press enter or tab to the
post button. That's it!

If people want updates to appear in their Facebook feed, they can "like" the
page. If you are already logged in to Facebook you just need to press enter
on the link to like this page. There are no forms or anything additional to
do.

To find the writer's division group on Facebook, do a search for NFB
Writer's Division from your main screen. When I did that search the correct
page was the only search result.

And remember to use the mobile site, even if you aren't using a mobile
device. It works much, much better with JAWS. Oh, I am using JAWS 12,
internet explorer 11 and Windows 7. There may be a bit of difference with
different versions, but I would think these directions would still work for
the vast majority of JAWS and Windows users.

Happy Facebooking!

Julie

#2 We do need someone to manage our Facebook page. If you are interested,
and there could even be more than one person.but contact me. And what we are
looking for are, and not totally inclusive: We need to advertise our writing
contest; We need to explained and advertise ourselves; We need to advertise
and post teasers about our quarterly mag "Slate & Style; Put up pictures;
Advertise our upcoming business meeting in Orlando; Advertise our monthly
calls; and more!! (If you know FB, you have a good start to know what needs
to be done!)

Respectfully yours,

Robert Leslie Newman

President, NFB Writers' division
