Veighas,

I wrote one very short second-person piece years ago; now lost. The NLS
BARD book described below is written in second-person. Since it's short,
reading it might prove instructive for you, as it did for me.

Bill Meeker

Bright lights, big city: a novel DB 36643

McInerney, Jay. Reading time 4 hours, 51 minutes.
Read by Christopher Hurt. A production of the National Library Service for
the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Library of Congress.

Subjects: General

Description: McInerney's young protagonist is an aspiring novelist who works
as a fact checker for a New York magazine. Cocaine and barhopping become the
main focus of his life after Amanda, his wife turned model, dumps him with a
phone call from Paris. Not until after his wild life-style leads to his
firing and he is forced into a confrontation with his brother does he
realize that it is not Amanda's desertion that is causing his behavior.
Strong language.

Hi All,
I have never written a story in second person before and would like to try
it.
I was just wondering how you introduce the character.
It seems kind of awkward to start with:
"Your name is Kelly, and you just graduated from a 9-month training center."
Is that OK, or is it better to not introduce who the you character is and
just have someone calling Kelly's name?
Thanks,
Vejas
