I agree with Bridgit.  Editors typically have a degree in English and are 
usually associated with a university program.  Of course, there are some who 
enter the field through another door, but that is not the usual way it 
works.

I personally have never heard of programs specific to editing. Most editors
have degrees in English or writing or journalism.
