[stylist] List of questions for Critiques

Hi Tessa,
I really like this list. The only thing I could think to add to
it is: is there an equal amount of showing vs. telling?
Now, I can see why people who aren't writers and simply enjoy a
good story may find this difficult.
Another thing I might add, being a millennial, is that all
correspondence should be done by email rather than text message
(which happens to me a lot-maybe not you so much since you have a
better idea of who to send things to, LOL). With a good
critique, I think a text message would just be too lengthy.

Subject: [stylist] List of questions for Critiques

I thought this might be a handy list to compile. The idea is to
have a list
of possible questions if you give your work to someone who isn't
sure how to
critique your work. I'll start with a couple and anyone who
wants can add
more, then people can compile their own list of questions from
the ideas
here.

Time line, is the time line consistent and logical throughout? Do
things
happen within reasonable amounts of time, if not why not?

Dialogue, does the dialogue fell natural and logical or is it
stunted and
contrived?

Description, is there enough visual, and other sensory
description or are
there things/people you'd like to know more about?

Coriography, do the action scenes feel smooth and possible to you
or are
they vague, implausible or just too silly for words?

It's early and there are likely a million good items to add to
this list
that I can't think of right now. I tend to be very detail
oriented when
reading, structure, punctuation and grammar are definitely not my
strong
points.

Anyway feel free to add items.

Tessa
