Here in Southeastern Wisconsin the astronomical event wasn't total, but my
experience was.

As always when these astronomical displays happen between 8:00 A.M. and 6:00
P.M. Central Time on weekdays excluding Wednesday and Sunday, I am seated at
the appointed time beginning a haircut and shave from my barber, Pete.

"Make the inside curves of my beard beneath each cheek look the same as the
inward curve of a crescent moon or today, a sun, Pete."

"OK; what about the outside lines that go under your chin?"

"No, that will require too much upkeep and I'm not sure of the total
effect."

"Right; probably like something's been taking bites out of your double chin.
So how've you been?"

Time passes.

Chats, snips, clips, buzzings, latherings, lowering, raising, clipping, and
a pro forma vacuuming.

"All set, you're human-looking again, but people will need special glasses
to view you."

"Thank you Pete, a miracle and a work of celestial art; how much do I owe
you?"

Rising, I turned to the barber to my left saying reverently"I don't know
how or from where Pete gets his power, but every time I sit down in his
chair, eclipse me."
