[stylist] Using WordPress

Camille,
I started my first blog 2 years after my sight loss - my first blog, 
"Walking by Inner Vision" will be 10 years old in October.
I knew nothing at all about how to do a blog. I've learned by trial and 
error and with some tips from others from time to time. I know that working 
from the "help" link is so difficult.

I spent a lot of time viewing other blogs - and I still do that - to learn 
from others.

About 4 years ago, I started a second blog - SCANdalous-Recollections Blog. 
Both have been very successful and each one gains more followers and viewers 
every year.

One aspect I ask you to consider is that you visit other blogs and learn 
from them as well as enjoy meeting new bloggers. Just like anything else, 
reciprocity is the key to success in this endeavor.

What works best for me is to write my article in Word. I do the corrections 
in that article before I cut and past it into the WordPress Blog. There is 
definitely a format to use in writing a blog. Articles for the blog will be 
different than articles for other publications.
Look into this before you begin and you will see the differences -
Just take your time and be patient. It takes awhile to do it but you can do 
it. Once you can get your articles up and sent off successfully, then you 
can look into other matters to enhance your book's appearance. This can take 
place well after you have learned the basics.

The basics you need to do to begin are: Put up a photo that will be your 
profile picture - or your header. That will be your permanent home page, and 
then you can begin creating your posts.
Once you do these two things, you can build on them later after you get 
proficient.

I write 2 blogs - one will be 10 years old in the fall.
The other one is about 4 years old.
I enjoy doing them very much.  Just be patient and go slowly. You don't need 
to worry about bells and whistles or smoke and mirrors when you begin.

I also don't really know how to post on a blog. I'm using Word Press to
build my chapter's website and also have trouble using that too. Their help
section is all video, with no written explanation. Very confusing.

I am interested to learn more about this too. What is the app called so I
can find it in the app store?

I would think starting on your computer would be better than working from
app later. Do you know that the app and start-up are accessible?

Reading and commenting on others blogs is easy. It's doing your own that can
have more complexity.

Good day, writers list.

I recently got the WordPress app for my iPhone.  This means I could start a
blog there.

Should I set up my account through the app or my computer first, and how do
I do that?

I will need some help on how to get started using this venue.  I know what
blogs are but I don't even know how to post comments to other people's blogs
or read comments others have posted.
