You can also try Magnets and Ladders which published pieces by people with
disabilities.

Tessa,

It depends on what type of writing it is and what his intent is. If it's a
piece of creative writing-- short memoir, personal essay, creative
nonfiction-- any literary publication will accept it. If it's more
prescriptive, perhaps a newsletter-type of publication, but I'm not aware of
many pubs like this beyond the NFBs Braille Monitor. There is Breath and
Shadow, but that is still a literary magazine accepting any literary writing
by disabled people. He could also seek out blogs like Disability Wisdom that
might accept a guest blogger.

But it really depends on how literary or prescriptive it is. That will
determine what type of publication will accept it. Like I said, if literary,
any literary mag/journal is a potential place for publication. He just has
to submit it around and see if anyone accepts it.

That's another thing to keep in mind too: Whether prescriptive or literary,
it will have to be submitted for consideration. Submitting doesn't guarantee
publication.

Bridgit

Merry Christmas
I have someone looking for a publication where he can publish his story
about losing his vision?
Looking for a general list of publications either specific to the blind
community or which would be more likely to publish that sort of thing?
Thanks
Tessa
